I need to somehow mount a kydex M&P holster to the rear of my center console in my truck as there is nowhere else for me to stash it.

Any suggestions/instructions?

Not knowing anything about your truck is there a way to secure a nylon yoke or panel to it using side release buckles and webbing? If that is possible then you can mount the kydex holster to it. Just a suggestion.

I mounted one of these (http://www.budspolicesupply.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/56/products_id/837) inside my nightstand drawer. I just ran two screws through the paddle. It was cheap, it's a stable mount, the holster seems sturdy enough for this use and the retention feature is extremely easy to use. You might be able to do something similar in your truck.

Check out the Safariland MLS options, particularly near the bottom of the page where they show one hing on the side of a dresser.

Here is another option. You can use this sytem to mount a Serpa quick disconnect pretty much anywhere.

I sometimes hang the Murse off the front or back of the passenger headrest, so I can grab it and go wherever. Looks innocuous to whoever else is either in, or looking around, my truck.

I wish somebody made a system where the front of the holster could be attached to something to make grabbing the gun easier.

If I'm understanding you, why not just buy a left handed holster if you're a righty, and vice versa?

I want to mount the holster perpendicular to the surface of a cabinet. I would like something more secure than glue. Like a holster with mounting fixtures on the face to work like the Safariland one in the link above. I'm probably the only person who wants something like this, so it's not likely to happen.

If by the face, you mean the part of the holster that includes the sight channel and surrounds the top surface of the slide, I have never seen one like that. I can tell you, though, that the holster I linked to above has a pretty deep sight channel. It happens to be right next to me now. There's about 1/8 inch between the top of the sight and the inside surface of the sight channel. It it looks as though you might be able to drill a couple of holes through the sight channel, mount it to something using a couple of small carriage bolts, with the rounded heads inside the sight channel, and still have enough clearance in the sight channel to use the holster. Not sure how sturdy that would be though. Another option might be to use a piece of flat stock and fab up something that would slide into the sight channel and be secured to the cabinet above and below the holster - a mounting bracket.

Yeah, that's the part of the holster I mean. Those are some good ideas, I'll see what I can fabricate. Thanks for the input.

I was just hoping someone out there would know of something manufactured to do what I want without resorting to such mods. If someone knows if there is such a thing, please post a link to it.

Thank you.

Yeah, I know it's a Fobus, but the mount doesn't look to awful.

Vehicle mount (http://www.fobusholster.com/products/UNIVERSAL_HOME_VEHICLE_MOUNT-2641-61.html)

If all it's going to be doing is sitting there while you're driving, it may not be too bad an option.

That could even work for my needs. Just put it on the end of the cabinet and swivel the grip out past it and Voila!
