We have recently completed a special run of our popular RIS II MK18 rail systems in black. These rail systems are designed for use on a 10.3" Carbine Length barrel with a low profile gas block. We currently have these in stock in a very limited quantity. The will be available for purchase on the website in the next couple of days or you can call us to place your order. MSRP is $359

Joe, I've got a question for you:
If I shave down the FSB on a factory LMT 10.5 will it fit under the rail?
If NOT, what's the best option for gas block?
Thanks!

It will that's how mine is, I shaved the FSB down on my barrel. My barrel is a Colt 14.5" SOCOM M4 barrel. I cut it down to 10.5" and shaved the FSB to fit under the MK18 RIS II rail.

Why does the MK18 RIS II not support the M203?
Why does the MK18 RIS II not support the M203?
Because it was designed for a MK18, which has a 10.3" barrel. The barrel sticks out just far enough beyond the forend so that a suppressor can be mounted on the flash hider. There is no room for a 203 to be mounted on the MK18 barrel.
Ic thanks for the clarification

Robb, I thought you might have an answer :D
That being said, IF a person wanted to run a gas block on factory bbl that doesn't have setscrews on the bottom, what would you chose?
Thanks man!

Will this fit with .936 bull barrels such as a RRA 458 socom? Looking at the M4A1 model for my mid length 458 upper.
Thanks,
Shaun

I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Thanks god you can remove the bottom half of the RISII . As you can see from the pic, it is a very tight fit with the big honking .936 gas block. The gas block does not touch ( but it is very close )
Takes some juggling to slide the rail on , then gas block on halfway, then line up front of rail and move the two components in place. The gas block obviously does not fit through the front of the RISII

You can see how tight the barrel is in the opening of the RISII
Have fun getting your RRA forend off

Why does the MK18 RIS II not support the M203?
It will work with the Rail Mounted M203 from LMT. However the 40mm barrel extends way past the muzzel of a 10.3" barrel.
do you have any pics with a m203 mounted on the rail with the fsb? what is needed to mount the m203 to the rail?

Well I think I missed the boat on these and they have dried up. A shame, but I think the FDE will work almost as well for me.

If you wanted one bad enough, Noveske has Mk18 uppers with the black RIS II in stock. You could take the rail off and sell the other parts but thats a lot of money to drop just to get a rail.

We have the FDE and black RIS II Mk18 rails in stock. Soon to be ordering some of the new Mk18 FSP models too (in FDE) that I saw at 2011 SHOT show, these look great on 11.5" barrels.

This is the closest I could find

Curious... can you use a black RIS II Mk18 rail with a BCM mid-length barrel with a shaved or low-pro gas block? Has anyone done this? Thanks.
Chris
