View Full Version : MOLLE Attachment for Raven Concealment Holsters
I'm looking at getting a pair of RCS holsters, mostly for IWB use, but I also want the ability to mount it on a MOLLE belt... which attachment would work best for this?
Other holsters are an option, but I don't know of any quality IWB light holsters for 1911's or M&P9's.
I just put the loops that came with the holster in the oven to let them flatten out and re-attached them to the top and bottom rivets on the holster to let them cool in shape, then removed one end, slid the holster on the MOLLE, and have used it successfully for quite some time.
You might also consider the Peters Custom Holsters Spada (http://www.shop.peterscustomholsters.com/product.sc?productId=8&categoryId=2), which is designed to work on MOLLE systems.
Our customers have been using a few different methods to attach the holsters to MOLLE belts, plate carriers, etc.
Depending on the MOLLE gear you have (there is much variation in the stitching pattern within the industry), you can either loop the standard belt loops through and reattach them, use 550 cord to lace it up, or even zip ties to do the same. All seem to hold up just fine. Just keep in mind that the belt or rig, while worn, will have a different bend than it sitting flat on the floor. Avoid undue stress on the system and you should be just fine.
Here's a student from class last weekend who took his standard belt loops and threaded them through:

Well, it looks like I won't be able to dual-hat my own IWB rig (want to avoid 550 or zip ties), so the RCS will work best for my 1911. Thanks for the link Rob, I guess the answer is both.
some people have used this Blackhawk Molle mount but I have not so I can't give a recommedation.

sorry for the large pics...
To the modification the Rob_S made, one could cut some strips of kydex and leave the factory ones in tact. They could be cut to fit tightly in the belt of choice and still retain the form of the oem loops.
