I recently got a P229R Caliber X Change kit, what do you know it came with the new E2 style slide.
First the new American made 15 round magazine that they talked about, is a completely new design from the Mecgar made ones. It's thicker, and will not insert in my P228R which uses the P229R 9mm frame. It's labeled 229-1.
Now the new slide has no issues feeding from the normal Mecgar made magazines, and they appear to have no issues locking in dry.
The slide itself is slightly lighter, I will compare it to a P228R slide this weekend. I will also try to get pictures this weekend.
One final report it appears to have no issues with my RCS holsters which are made for the P229R, and the P226R (with the X300 attached for both).
