Title says it. I don't want to spend a bazillion dollars on one. Just a good one will do.

I've checked Paul's site and didn't see any (in stock). I know he has the closest to "mil-spec" barrels that anyone other than Colt and FN-USA make. My second choice was a CMMG SOCOM but saw where someone was having the same problems I'm having. Third choice would be a stainless so I could have it reamed/bored if it gave me the same problems.

Thanks,

BCM is the best for the money. My second choice would most likely be an LMT.

BCM all the way. If you can't find one (the last time I looked Bravo, Denny & Grant all had them in stock) then find an LMT.

I checked Paul (Bravo) and Grant and neither had them in stock. I haven't checked Denny's site yet.

PKfirearms sells a bushy 14.5 with a perm attached phantom. Standard feeramps but they are available in 1/7 twist.

I've thought of that, but I have a DD 7.0 on as well.

Yes, I see they are now. Are you looking for just a barrel?

Yes, I see they are now.
You see that they are out of stock? Or are there some I'm missing?

I am/was depending on the outcome of an email this morning 7/18/06. The one that was popping 5.56 primers popped out a primer on a .223 load. It is now sitting beside me ready to ship or fix... Thanks

Let me know because I have a brand new 14.5" BCM upper that I'd be willing to sell you so that I can turn around and buy LOKNLOD's BCM middy upper :D

This may be a dumb question, but im seeing it everywhere in here everyone is talking about BCM bbls and uppers.

Is BCM actully making, turning and Rifling there own bbls? or just buying them and mounting them on uppers ?

what sets his apart from lets say a LMT, Stag, - Wilson bbls or any other Manu ?

** And pleae I hope this did not come out the wrong way, but im just asking ...

Hi Brett,
Good questions.

We (BCM) supply the 11595 steel and M4 extentions to ERShaw. They drill the bore and chamber. We then ship the 'contoured blank' (in the white) off to chrome (bore and chamber). After chrome, we use the M197 HPT (high pressure test) cartridge to "proof" the barrels (70K psi +/-3k). After that, we take them to an independent certified NDT facility that performs the MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection). For the barrels that pass, we phosphate, drill gas ports, drill taper pins for FSB, assemble and test fire BCM upper groups.

I think he is doing well with them. He can't keep any in stock. If there were any around that would have been (and was) my choice.

I've got a 14.5" M4 gov't contour barrel from Sabre Defence that I like a lot. It has the extended A2 style FH permanently attached for 16" legal length. It's 1/9, chrome lined, has M4 cut barrel extension, phoshate finished and it shoots great.

I have two spare 14.5" LMT barrels from parted-out new uppers. Shoot me a PM if you want one.

You won't go wrong with either upper bbl combo from LMT or Bravo. I have one each, 14.5 LMT and 11.5 BCM, bought from Grant. I'm leaning toward more uppers from Bravo as they are truly the best bang for buck out there. You have to jump on them when they are in stock though, like all the good stuff.
