Does anyone have any experience with these two surefire bulbs? Which would be better for a rifle light? Thanks, FMJs-of-Freedom

And this for the Malkoff... Nothing that does side by side. I am getting a 9P replacement, so that influences my decision as well.

I have the TNVC in a 6p I use for duty. I'm very pleased and it is plenty bright. I would definately recommend especially if your upgrading from the stock 6p bulb.

I have read good things about both lamps. I bought the TNVC G2 with the Q5 Cree lamp combo, and am completely satisfied with it.

Have you been able to screw the bezel of a G2 light on fully using the TNVC drop-in?

Yea not a problem, I just wouldnt leave the light on for very long with the g2 bezel, it'l get plenty hot.

Yes, I was. If I thought I was going to run it for extended periods of time, I would get the metal bezel one like TNVC recommends for sure.

I use a Malkoff m61, not for my rifle though. The Malkoff dropins are top notch, you won't be disapointed. No experience with the other one. Also, what's your intended use? For building/house/room clearing brighter isn't better. 200 lumens is almost pushing it for indoors.

No for indoors I prefer a pistol style light too. I just need a general purpose light that can be attached to my rifle for greater distances at times. FMJs-of-Freedom

what I meant was, "can you screw the bezel all the way down"? my G2 has about a 1/4" gap with the TNVC unit in place...

Do you have a 2 stage LED? If you do, that LED set-up is a little longer and causes the bezel to not screw down all the way.

On my light the bezel is screwed down all the way. To make sure we are talking about the same thing, look at the picture of the tan G2 shown 2/3rds of the way down the page:

Does your light look like that one too? Mine does, except that mine is black.

Malkoff drop-ins are hard to beat. I have not tried a TNVC, but the M60 I have in a 9P is awesome. The M61 I have in a Scout light is also a great light, but doesn't touch the 9P for throw.

thx for the reply. no, mine does not screw down flush. it has maybe 1-2 turns to go but I can't get it any tighter without fear of messing something up...
