I'm sure the Sigs have never had any issues so the problem must be resolved with the trade in. They should never have any further issues now that they have Sigs instead.

lol :D:D:D

There was a similar article a few months back. A P.O. shooting a Glock at the range and it blew up in his hands. They did all kinds of tests afterward to see if was ammo related and I believe it wasn't.

I'm contend with my HK's!

There are 45 millimeter guns built as long ago as World War II that still work very well, he said.

OUTSTANDING!! A handgun 5mm bigger than a M203 would definitely be that mythical one shot manstopper!!!!

There was a recall of the Glock 21 requiring a new trigger bar and trigger housing. The article claims that some of the weapons are older, so I wonder if the one that blew up was not upgraded.

I hear about a lot more LE agencies having issues with Glocks than competitive and recreational shooters (although I obviously don't have any per-capita statistics, and there are just a lot of Glocks in police holsters). I wonder if it's not frequently a matter of agencies buying lower-quality or reloaded ammo for practice.

I've been issued a G22 for years and never had a problem, however, we do shoot a lot of reloaded ammo in training and such.

actually, I'm almost positive this is the same one from a few months ago, and IIRC it was determined the failure was related to out of spec ammo that was then fired out of battery...

pretty sure switching to sigs won't fix that

on the plus side, there will be some police trade in Glock 21s soon....

So many things wrong with that article and the commentary by those involved. But its LOL funny that they think going to Sigs will save them.

It would be nice if they would ID what ammo is being used in addition to the firearm.

Failure pattern of this gun appears similar to many others in which ammo was the culprit.

This has come up in the past with the G21. When the HP White Lab analyzed the gun and ammunition involved in the Portland PD incident several years ago, they definitively pinpointed the ammunition involved as the causal factor.

The article (and the department involved) really needs to have an impartial scientific analysis to be determinative of what caused the kboom.
