Sorry if this has already been covered but the search thing keeps telling me Internet Explorer can't display. Anyways I have been looking at the Troy DOA rear sights and I kinda like the concept but I was wandering if anyone has or has used them and what their thoughts were on them. Thanks for any help.

As soon as I have the duckets I'm getting a set.

My reasoning (or expectations;)) are that the diamond will allow more accurate vertical centering of the front sight post in the aperture. I am very far sighted and the rear aperture on my Troy's now becomes egg shaped so my sight post is good side to side, but can't find the center vertically and I end up with vertical strings slicing down the center of my target. I hope the side corners of the diamond will alleviate this:)

What M4Fundi said..

They are pretty quick to pick up. Sorry about my craptastic picture.

Was just at Troy's site admiring these.

Yeah, search function has been glitchy. I find it happens when you use the "search this thread" box, and it didn't happen when I used advanced search. It's probably browser/security stuff, dunno.

So, you have found that the diamond "does" help with centering the front sight post?

What kind of watch do you have on?

Yes, for it did. I had a problem with the standard apertures. It was hard to center it up with my eyes. The DOA helped out because of the 90 deg angles. As they say, you mileage may vary.. ;)

(I have a Dievas Vortex on.. case is made by Fricker in Germany)

Thanks for the first hand info on the DOA!

I used to know my watches (not anymore:mad:) ... that watch appears to be well thought out. I like the simple WW II Pilot style face built into a titanium dive watch body with auto movement. I hope it serves you well:)

I like them over the standard aperture. It's just easier/quicker for me to pick up. I always had a hard time with the round holes.

The first aperture is for 0-300m, the second one is 300-500m.

Here is an image that best represents what my eyes see when focusing on the front sight. The bottom corner is lost in the black, but the top is enough to align, I feel. I am not sure how happy I am with them, part of me thinks I would prefer the standard aperture.

If anyone is interested in trying them out send me a PM, we can work something out.

Wow, if that's what you see.. My front sight is clearly in focus with the rear diamond still visible and distinct but blurred out. It's perfect for me.

The rear is sharper, I can make out the white lines in the day, I wasnt able to get the depth of field wide enough to capture both

I have them. I love them. :)

They're quicker and more precise than most sights I've used.

The only sight I like more honestly is KAC micro sights.

Other then those, Troy DOA sights are perfect. 9/10.

I got mine. They are on my 15-22 for now until my SBR is complete. I plan on going to the range this weekend and putting some rounds down range with them.

For the record that is a great effort with the photo... impressed. My wife just got my Noveske in the divorce:confused::(:mad: but I will try these sights when I pay off the lawyers and her and get a new Noveske some day!
