View Full Version : Medium Contour CL'ed 11.5" barrel?

Does COLT, BCM, or Daniel Defense make a medium contour 4150 CMV CL 1:7 barrel that is 11.5" long??

I like the profile that Noveske uses on his 10.5" and 12.5" stainless barrels,

...but everyone seems to be heading towards LW or Gov't profile.

I know I can get one from CMMG, but my experience so far was mixed on their barrels.

BCM and Colt us a Govt type profile with is going to be about the same weight as what Noveske uses. DD might be working on one, but I have not seen it yet.

Pencil profiles are where its at! ;)

The Colt 6933 barrel is an "A1" profile while the BCM is what I'd call "GI" or "A2", meaning the Colt would be a little lighter.

I also do like the "pencil" profiles although I think the Noveske N4 profile makes a lot of sense too. The Centurion "pencil" profiles are not as light as the DD or BCM so you might see if they offer an 11.5" or if they can cut it down?

Yikes! That looks like an HBAR ++.

No quality manufacturer makes something that thick (Clue). :D

Before I cut a 14.5" M4A1 down to size, I want to know if anyone makes the thing already cut, crowned and ready to go.

The M4A1 is about exactly what I am looking for, just 3" too long. :D

I can't focus because all I see is an overly heavy barrel. :D

Also, that barrel is not going to make you shoot your AR any better (FYI). :D

Pencil/Govt/M4 profile are the same up to the FSB.

A 12.5" HF CL barrel is in the works, it's lighter than our Stainless medium contour but a bit thicker than Govt profile.

Centurion has 10.5in and 12.5in chrome lined hammer forged barrels maybe they can cut the 12.5 in to your desired length.

Better solution - get something medium contour from CMMG and send it to ADCO (or have ADCO take their MedCon 16" M4 barrel and shorten it).

I'm doing the latter for my 11.5".
The former for a 17.5" (taking my CMMG M18 and prepping it for an OPS can/brake)

Like the top one, but 11.5"...the top one is a COLT M4 SOCOM barrel.

looks lighter than a SOCOM barrel but heavier than a Govt one

and it's 10.5 not 11.5 :(

I've got the Noveske SS 10.5" pictured in the first post, so I am trying to move up another inch, or maybe even to 12.5, but no longer than that.

Then just get the ADCO MedCon M4 barrel, and get it cut down.
