Colt switched from Stoner's spec of 6061 to 7075 in 1966 or so because 6061 receivers were "rotting" in Vietnam. 7075 fixed the problem.

I would be shocked if they were not 7076 series AL.

I am sure DD gets their raw forgings from Alcoa or Anchor Harvey like everyone else.

These are not machined billets.
