Ancient legends and hoakie religions are no match for a good blaster at you side. ( I guess some part of me is still a nerd)
This started off as an NIB P226 Elite ST in 357SIG.
From there, it had the sear/hammer surfaces polished by Torie at GGI (perfection, the trigger in SA is better than my Les Baer TRS as far as feel, maybe 1# or so heavier, but cleaner except for over-travel.)
Next up GGI addressed the color. I don't like stainless. However, SIG does not make a carbon-steel pistol. Aluminum frame or stainless, take your pick. So slide, barrel, frame, trigger, etc. were QPQ'ed. Rockewell hardness 65+, color? Looks identical to Type III Ano.
I hate plastic on a metal weapon, so Flork's (Now APEX's) aluminum Mainspring seat was installed.
SIG went to great lengths to design a takedown lever of a different material. I figured it might be nice to have! Mr Gray was nice enough to send me one of these Combat takedown levers left over from his 10mm project.
I prefer Trijicon's sights to Meprolites, and an armorer for the DOI once told me Trijicons were much more corrosion resistant. So I had some installed.
The OEM rosewood grips are about as sticky as a watermellon covered in Crisco and thrown into a wading pool. I replaced them with Hogue G10 grips.
The plastic guiderod? IT had to go. In it's stead is GGI's Suparblack'ed SS guiderod.
Also, installed the Ti firing-pin block and 19# mainspring, and while it was there, Mr. Gray installed one of his most awesome custom mag-releases made of 4140 or some such superior material (He told me, but I forgot a technical spec for once) to the MIM part.
So...it's pretty, but how does she shoot? Well, here is a group Roy shot for me...
