The HK45C will not take my preferred light (X300). Does anyone know of a light that fits it well? I just want one for "beside the bed" duty since I don't carry with an attached light. How about the TLR-3? Any one have a picture of this combo?

The insight X2 is the only one that I've found that fits without modification. The TLR-1 and TLR-2 will fit, but requires modification (haven't tried the TLR-3). The rail is simply too short.

You could also investigate the new Viridian C5L if you don't mind a laser/light combo.

Just bought an hk45c and was researching the same light. Can't find a pic anywhere but that is an interesting light. I'm thinking of dumping the compact and going with the full size pistol. Like you, I'm not carrying the gun. By switching to the full size, I can use the x300 and I get 2 more rounds in the mag.

My father uses a TLR-3 on his M&P40 and likes it alot. Im not sure how rail space is on the HK45c, but I can fit a XTI Procyon on my M&P45c.

I had a Glock Laser/Light combo that I was not using that fit my HK 45 like a glove. Full sized but I believe the rails are the same. I leave it on all the time.

I've seen them. Getting back to the OP's problem, I'm bummed about the lack of light choices for this gun. While the TLR-3 looks like the best choice, I don't know anyone that has any first hand knowledge on the performance/reliability of the light.

have you tried a TLR-3, I think they might fit, you may know someone with one and could check it out, I may go to my smiths shop if he has one he will let me check out if it fits my HK45c

HK45 has a longer rail than the HK45c. Glock lights won't fit directly onto the HK45c.

For a 'flush' fitting light I think you are restricted the X2 or TLR-3. I want to say the people who put the TLR-1 and TLR-2 lights on the HK45c, did so using the 1913 key placed in backwards or left free floating then clamped the light down over it. Sorry, I sold my HK45c otherwise I'd check it with my TLR-1 to figure it out.

What light have most people settled on for the HK45C. I am leaning toward a TLR-3. Thanks

I would run whatever you're willing to spend on a light, as long as you have certain criteria for what you're looking for. In my experience you want something that will completely disorient the opponent / intruder so you have the advantage. If you're new to the light game I'd advise a little researching on tactics with lights. From my training I always assume behind a light is a gun, and if I'm the one with the light I am giving away my position. From my training I have kind of a list of what I look for: something that is bright, has an easy to operate on/off, maybe a strobe option to help induce some flicker vertigo, and how the light fits into my grip. No point in running a light if I can't manage recoil. Hope this helps.

EDIT: I also dumped my HK45C for the full size.

Or if you can wait a few months, the X300 compact will be out...

What I was going to post. And am intending to do. If that pic is accurate it looks like a DG switch will be available as well.

I use a TLR-3 on my 45c and a M&P 9c.

Perfect for a "bed side"pistol.
