Z-Medica Corporation, a medical device company developing innovative

hemostatic agents, today announced the launch of its QuikClot Grant for

U.S. military veterans attending Marietta College. The $25,000 grant

will support Marietta College’s Yellow Ribbon Program, which allows

qualified veterans to attend the college as undergraduate students and

receive full tuition scholarships.

“We are honored that Z-Medica has chosen Marietta College as a place to

provide support for veteran student aid,” said Dr. Jean Scott, President

at Marietta. “Gifts like this allow Marietta to keep with its tradition

of providing the necessary resources for our veteran students and help

ease their transition back into the classroom."

The Yellow Ribbon Program is important because it is designed to cover

any outstanding tuition and fees above those covered by the GI Bill

benefit. The program will cover all qualified Iraq and Afghanistan War

veterans who attend Marietta College.

“Since the company was founded back in January of 2002 its focus has

been, and always will be, to create products that make a difference and

help save lives,” said Bart Gullong, Z-Medica co-founder. “While our

QuikClot product has made a difference on the battlefield by helping to

save warriors’ lives, we recognize the importance of helping to make a

difference once they return home from service as well. Through

Marietta’s Yellow Ribbon initiative, we believe this grant is an

appropriate way to accomplish this.”
