Anyone seeing casting/mold flash on Glocks?

I am pretty much a diehard 1911 guy, seeing as that's what I started out with in the Navy. I have tried a variety of guns (S&W1076, 39, & 60/Sig P229 & P245) and always came back to the old 1911. A 1911 of some sort has been my primary CCW for the last 15 years or so.

But as the end of my active service looms, I am considering a new career in law enforcement. I thought I would try a polymer gun or two. And maybe consolidate from 6 calibers to two or three.

I recently bought a new Glock 35 and a 27, and was thinking 34 or 17 and a 26 next. Both had what I would call casting flash or mold lines down the back of the grip frame. On the 27 it was pronounced enough that I finally got some sandpaper and smoothed it out. Is that a normal thing on the polymer guns?

Fairly common on the Glocks I've seen. I normally take a exacto or some fine aluminum oxide to the offending areas.

Yup on my 20SF, drew blood from the web of my hand. Had to take sandpaper to it. :eek:

Have not experienced this with my Glock 19. Is Glock's polymer out of date? Do they still use the same stuff as in 1985? I wonder how their composition is compared to other modern polymer handguns.

I kind of like the casting mold flash.

It's not on the RTF2 or Gen4 guns though.
