1/8 twist

Questions about the 1/8 twist.

I am thinking about a chrome lined 1/8 twist barrel. I shoot cartridges with bullets as light as 55gr and as heavy as 80gr . Will the 1/8 handle this.

I am leaning towards the CMMG barrel, largely because it is the only 1/8 twist chrome lined I can find. Is it good?

I would also prefer a 16" heavy barrel, but could do an 18" barrel.

It will have a long black something hanging off the end of it. ;)

Yes it will, but so will a 1/7.

For me 69gr to 77gr works well in my couple of 1x7 barrels. Sure 1x8 will work and is probably more accurate but I'll probably never shoot well enough to see the difference between 1x8 and 1x7 so I buy 1x7 barrels but I can shoot .43" groups with a 13.7" Noveske AR at 100yds with 1x7 twist w/77gr Black Hills. YMMV.
