ok i have a few extra sets of the issued 'training plates'

now these look EXACTLY like the ones you get in country.. they even say 7.62 ball on the front, so can I wear these and they provide ballistic protection? or is that a bad idea?

My understanding is that training plates are either old plates that are not considered capable anymore or faux plates that simulate the weight. This is to ensure your real deal plates do not get damaged during training. I don't think you would want to depend your life on these things but I am no expert..

well see thats what i thought but all the new guys are getting plates that actually say TRAINING ONLY on them..

That doesn't sound reassuring. Kinda like getting issued a weapon that says "replica" or "display model" on the side :(
