View Full Version : Cleaning BCG's

The other day I pulled out a BCG that had long since been forgotten. I guestimate that it had 500-600rds through it and was never cleaned. So wanting to clean it up and make use of it, I pulled out some Slip 2K Carbon Cutter and decided to soak it for awhile. This is where the problem came in.

Because of the BCG's size, I couldn't find anything that it would fit in and ALSO not waste so much of the Carbon Cutter solution. I wanted a pan or tray that was basically the same size as the BCG.

So the search commenced. I wanted SS because most plastics don't hold up well from prolonged contact with some solvents. I spent HOURS searching the internet for what I wanted! Then I found it. A medical instrument tray manufacturer had what I wanted. These trays also came with lids which is a nice feature incase you want to move the solution. The bottom of the trays have ridges so your BCG won't sit in the removed carbon.

All in all, this little tray has made my life easier and cleaning a much less daunting task. I like this tray so much, that I picked up a dealer account with them and am now stocking these things! :D

What's the blue milk for? Oh, that's the carbon cutter?

I just have their lube and spray cleaner...

Nice tray!

You know, I see these things every day at work ( I work in a hospital). After they have seen their better days, they get tossed. Need to keep my eye out.
