Love the design, price is on the high side even for KAC. Really want to pull trigger but up in the air due to cost.

i could never justify that price for that. KAC sells to civilians now but sometimes I swear they set their prices to limit civilian ownership, I love their stuff but cannot for the life of me see the reasoning for their pricing on many items.

I think that is the same gas block that has been around for a while, just not in very large quantities. I would guess that retail prices are influenced heavily by .gov contract prices.

It is awesome that you can even find one for sale - regardless of how much it cost. These were about as hard to find as anything I've seen. They are great pieces of equipment - excellent machine work, very nice sight picture, spring-loaded up. They are also pinned on versus most that are simply screwed on.

I had one probably 3-4 years ago and it was nice - I wanted a URX to match it up with but couldn't find one at the time. Since I paid so much for it I wanted to make an "ultimate" set up but that never happened. And at the time no one wanted to mess it up trying to pin it to the barrel...

Crap, that's more than I want to pay for a barrel!

Wow, that thing is almost the cost of Knight's URX Rail. I love KAC products and the thought they put into them, but the pricing is absolutely monstrous. :p

Isn't the wrench for their proprietary barrel nut in excess of $250? I seem to recall a guy on a another site sketch one up in CAD and machine one himself.

Someone was smoking something powerful when they decided to price it that's for sure

Have you looked at the Vltor? it has a swivel attachment if desired.

I got a Vltor on a trade, and I hate the AK post and it gets pushed down too easy.

That is without a doubt the stupidest AR part price I've seen yet. I'd definitely rather have the Vltor, even if they were the same price.

Since it's a back up, the intent is to collapse to avoid damage. No worries, just suggesting an alternative.

i got a vltor thinking it would be similar to the kac unit, as mentioned above the ak sight post is too wide for my tastes. Also the unit seemed to be cast from aluminum which coincidentally broke :(

Oh I know, I just wish it had a little more resistance, a little snap in or something.

I would also look at the ARMs front sight, I actually wish I had that instead of the Vltor. But I do admit the Vltor is sexy. Gunrunner, what makes you think cast? Mine is very clean and nice billet.

Is yours billet steel or billet aluminum? Mines cast because you can see the parting lines and injector marks plain as day. The reason I'm asking is because I have reason to think I maybe have gotten a knock off unit 2nd hand. I've contacted vltor but haven't received any response to confirm or deny my inquiries.

I'm getting ready to do a 20"BCM, standard hg's. Right now, the Vltor is what I'm looking at to replace the fsb-maybe.

They weren't available when I built my ban compliant SAM-R so I went with a PRI, which served my purpose because it didn't have a bayo lug anyway (New York). No way I was spending that much on a FSB gas block (especially if I had to saw off the lug).

Yes, I know the swivel mount is upside down. This build isn't really done anyway. Needs optics and a lower.

nevermind, looked at their site, new deisgn. Now if only they had an option for standard sight post

****ing stupid price. The Wilson Combat is nearly the same sight at less than half the price. How can Knights' honestly justify that price?
