Wasn't sure where to ask this, so apologies if this is the wrong forum.

I'm increasingly finding myself taking new shooters to the range.

I'm looking for a few (simple) fun pistol and carbine drills that a beginner can tackle, that emphasize and reward accuracy.

I risk stereotyping here ... but ...

It's funny to watch guys pick up a gun and shoot. Invariably, they rush through everything with a semi-auto and have to be constantly told to slow down (and I was no exception). What was that Ken Hackathorn quote again about guys and shooting?

Gals are another story. They are usually very cautious, and tend to be very attentive to the person guiding them through the motions.

So I'm taking out a bunch of fellas to the range. They are drinking buddies and sports nuts, so I know there will be a competitive spirit amongst them.

I just need a little inspiration to harness that.

Thanks for your time and patience.

Let them spray bullets all over paper.

Then stop them all and make them watch you tear a bug hole out of the target, but just as fast as they were shooting.

Then ask them if they want to be mediocre or if they want to be good.

Take a page from Todd's book by making them put up or shut up.

Staple $20 bills around the desired strike zone!

Ah, that ($20 bill) is a good idea.

BTW, where has Todd been as of late?
