So I purchased some Cerakote Sniper Gray from Brownells last week. Here's the few things I've learned in the process to refinish my XD's slide:
I need a sandblasting cabinet.
Mix more cerakote than you might need
Use a good HVLP gun
My XD's slide is in the oven right now. About 30 more minutes before I take it out and cool it down. The sniper gray isn't black and it isn't stainless either. Hopefully it contrasts enough with the black lower and polished barrel. Truglo TFO sights will be going back onto the weapon as well.
I'm looking forward to doing other firearms in this coating. Anything longer than 24" will require a bigger oven.....
