Just FYI:

Smith and Wesson is currently offering a $50 rebate or 2 free magazines on purchases of new M&P pistols. I sent mine off today asking for the 2 free mags.

Purchase must be made Feb 27th thru May 31st, 2010.

Here's the link:
http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CustomContentDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&content=755502&sectionId=10002

EDIT: Purchase must be between those dates, evidenced by receipt...but the fine print says it can be postmarked up to June 15th, 2010.

Just out of curiosity:

One of my relatives recently purchased a NIB M&P from his local shop, however it turned out to be one made in 2008. Does the promotion still apply?

If it was previously unsold, yes.

Just sent in my coupon for 2 mags

For me, this is a no brainer, a M&P mag is something like $35 or more. So 2 mags = $70 or get $50 cash.

Easy to buy mags for less than $25/ea so I'll take the money.

Where? For the 9c? Cheapest I've found is around $32 for the 12-rounders with the finger extension. If you've got somewhere else that sells for less, please let me know.

Guess I should have qualified my statement by saying that I use the fullsize mags. That being said, I checked the usual suspects online and most are out of stock for the compacts. OMB Express shows the fingered version in stock for $24.99.

They are about $30 here, and for online normally have to add in shipping and since only be ordering there isn't much 'savings' to begin with.

why couldn't it be like the AR free mag offer 5 free mags :D

Actually, Botach has them for $20 each plus shipping if you are looking...still can't beat free mags though.

I bought my M&P online through Gunbroker. The vendor sent me a receipt. Will S&W accept this receipt? Does anyone know if this purchase qualifies? Thanks.

Sent in for my 2 free .45 mags (I wrote a nice little sticky note saying "tan base plates please!") today. Purchased from Grant @ G&R, so that should be good to go.

Only if it was purchased new. You'll need to send in a copy of the sales receipt and the serial number.
