Search is not working for me so I apologize if this has been answered.

I am looking at the TA31F scope for my carbine. It has a MBUS at the rear and fixed sight on the front. I know I can not co-witness but will I be able to see the fixed front sight in the acog? If so what is the best way to eliminate the fixed sight from being in the field of view? Replace it, raise the ACOG, cut the fixed sight off of the bas block?

TIA

Havn't looked thru a TA-31F. The front sight thru my TA-11, is kind of a faint blurry spot in the lower half of the sight picture. Doesn't really bother me. Doesn't obscure the reticle. Theres a lot of folding FSB's on the market now, if it ends up bothering you.

The front sight will not be a problem for anything over ~1.5x (assuming a standard hight mount).

I've used the TA01 - also a 4x like yours with fixed front sights a lot and you will strain to even know it's out there.

With a 3x - 4x ACOG you won't even notice the front sight base in your field of view.

I would recommend the TA33 over the TA31 due to eye relief:

Only time i notice the blur of the front sight is if it is reflecting or is light colored. if it is flat and dark I dont notice it

I used to be a Supervisor in the Trijicon ACOG Department. I'm a Tactical Gear Retailer now (and we do carry the Trijicon line).

You don't have to worry about the TA31F and the front ironsight. Like previous posters said, the front ironsight will appear as a slight blur in the bottom of the scope.

I have a TA31F on my Rock River Arms M4 carbine. I don't even notice the front ironsight.

---------------------------

With the BUIS, if it's a low profile model it may actually fit underneath the eyepiece of the TA31F (which is a good way to save rail space and get the optic back far enough on the weapon).

If you find that your BUIS won't fit under the eyepiece of your TA31F, you can always pick up an ARMS 40L. We've checked it out and the ARMS 40L definitely fits underneath the eyepiece.

Because I used to be a Supervisor in the Trijicon ACOG Department, I have an extensive knowledge of the product line. If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask!

Have a good day!
