Honda is recalling 167,000 Acura TSX vehicles sold in the United States to replace a power-steering hose that can crack with age and leak fluid, creating a fire hazard.

Owners of 2004-2008 models with 2.4-liter inline-4 engines will be notified by mail starting at the end of May regarding the recall, the company said. The free repair involves installation of a new power-steering hose, O-ring gasket and fluid.

The hose problem, which has resulted in one reported fire with no injuries, can deteriorate prematurely after prolonged exposure to under-hood temperatures, Honda said. If a crack develops, the power-steering fluid can leak or spray onto a hot exhaust component, potentially causing a fire.

For more information, TSX owners can visit www.owners.acura.com/recalls or call (800) 382-2238.

Thanks. My GF drives a 2006 TSX so I just sent her an email with the information.
