Gold-plated, diamond-encrusted weapons are shown to the press after they were confiscated when the army seized a ranch in Zapopan, Mexico, Sunday, May 2, 2010. According to prosecutors, the weapons are believed to belong to the Valencia gang, allies of the powerful Sinaloa drug cartel, and most of the 31 pistols found in the raid had gold or silver-plated grips or glittered with diamonds...

So if I see that tucked in a waist band, does that give me "probably cause"?

You just need to wear them with the right outfit to really appreciate the bling.

Does bling falling off count as a stoppage or a failure?...
.....Right, failure.

If you think that's bad, look at what they do to ARs...
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h103/LordHeadshot/narcotraffickerARs.jpg
Per the article, they're encrusted with diamonds, rubies and emeralds.
Are diamonds and rubies a good sub for checkering? Don't knock it they might be very practical.

General Patton said it best...:D
They're ivory. Only a pimp from a cheap New Orleans whorehouse would carry a pearl-handled pistol.

Is that a gold plated silencer? These guys would look like a disco ball if standing out in the bright Mexican sun with their guns!
This troubles me on a significant level...that shit is wrong.

I dunno, I kind of like the silver 'punisher' grips in the first picture...
I have to appreciate that they were thoughtful enough to include a high power.
Charity auction anyone?
After I died a little inside after seeing these monstrosities, the burning question on a lot of peoples mind is for the AR's, is the BCG's properly staked and shot peened.
I remember seeing several large boxes of handguns like that which were bought by an importer in Alexandria,Va. in the late '70s.
They were apparently confiscated by Mexican police and sold at auction.
The right side of almost every pistol was nearly perfect but the entire left side was a rusted wreck.
I believe the guns were stuck into a waist band without a holster.

Ive seen those punisher grips elsewhere on a forum member's heater(ha, im using correct slang).
I bet if Chris and Travis ran these , youll have Nighthawk swapped w orders for front straps with 30 Carat per Inch grip enhancement:D

While ugly, there is some serious skill and a shit load of hard work in those guns.
There are some closet gun smiths in Mexico that could make legal money here in the US

I'd like to sit and talk with the gunsmith who did this work. This shit looks like something you'd see in a Master P rap video with him hopping out of that damned gold plated M1 tank hollering "ughhhh..."

Hence the term "Mexican carry".
We all chuckle at the "pimp blasters" but, the sobering reality is that those ghetto-fabulous guns and others like them have most likely killed more people than any Glocks, M&P's, HK's, etc. on this board ever will...

Unfortunately true.
Don't let anyone at Sig see those...they'll probably crank out a gold, jewel encrusted P226.

I was thinking the same thing.
Diamonds give a superior grip as opposed to 20lpi checkering.

You should see how some of the Norteno scumbags dress. Bloody sequin laden suits.

LOL... now that is funny:D
You guys are looking at them in the wrong context. Whiles its fine to have some serious fighting guns, you still got to have a BBQ gun, you know for birthdays and family stuff!!

...or the odd ceremonial beheading, torture of a gringo, interrogation of a captured federale... the usual cartel party occasions;)
Chrome AK mags with a gold plated dual mag clamp, that is hardcore.
The close ups of those are amazing! If you ditch the Punisher grips for something a little more classy, that would be a heck of a BBQ gun.
You just have to hang out in the right places in South or West Texas to appreciate it.
The obvious expense in over-embellishment while giving NO consideration to better sight or safeties suggests they were mostly used against stationary targets at close range.
If some Nighthawks, WC's and SA Pros were seized I'd think maybe there were some actual shooters in the bunch.....
