Switched all of mine out to BCM Gunfighter 3 or 4s.

2 of my rifles are running Gunfighters (mod 3 & mod 4), and another one running a LMT Charging handle. I like the Mod 4 and LMT. I was issued the PRI in the Marines, didn't like it much because it would get hung up on my gear (magazine pouches on my vest) and cause the bolt not to seat completely.

I'm planning on making the switch to the BCM Gunfighter, but I haven't checked them out yet.

Used to be PRI, but now is BCM.

I like the BCM mod 4, i have an LMT on my MK18 clone that is decent, and a PRI on my LT stealth.

the PRI is nice, but not twice the price of the BCM nice

BCM because I can abuse the hell out of it. Doesn't bend like the regular charging handle.

I like these in this order:

BCM Gunfighters
LMT with the new latch
PRI Gasbusters, I actually dislike the PRI big latch, I like putting a Badger Gen2 latch on a Gasbuster

I'm running stock CH right now, but a co-worker recently got a BCM lower from Grant with the BCM Mod4 so I got to check one out. Next order I place from BCM, I'll be changing mine over to the Mod4.

I've switched from the PRI's to the Gunfighters on all 3 of mine.

It seems like more people like the BCM Mod 4 (medium) rather than the Mod 3 (large). Do people feel the Mod 3 is too big maybe?

Its positively huge...

The medium latches are still on the big side.

BCM for the same reason. All the force that goes into yanking the charging handle back dosen't concentrate onto that little roll pin.

Those of you switching from the PRI to BCM noticing any more blowback in your face?

I usually only use BCMs but with my first foray into a 10.5" suppressed carbine I was thinking the PRI might help some keeping crap out of my face.

I would have thought that was a good thing to enhance your grip on it. What's the drawback of it being "too" big?

They just get caught on things, like any other gear you might be wearing.

Okay, I'm going to ask a question that is going to seem ridiculously stupid, but here it goes.

How can you abuse a charging handle? I know when I'm using my AR, I believe I only use my charging handle once, and that is to chamber the first round. I have only ever used stock charging handles and I have never not once bent one. Then again I'm not LE so I'm not out there beating the heck out of my weapon either. But even when I was in the Army beating the crap out of my gun, I never bent a charging handle.

I guess I'm just a little confused as to how it can happen, when all you do is pull it back and release it.

Edit: Correction, I might use it twice, if I need to clear my weapon; just in case I don't fire off a full magazine.

I guess that should have been the obvious answer. Thanks.

I have the BCM Mod 4 and I like it, very easy to grasp and not too big. I can only compare it to the stock Colt and the BCM is an improvement. I've never tried any others.

I have the LMT with the new latch and like it. It was bought before the BMC Gunfighter came out. I have had no reason to replace it, but if I did, I would probably replace it with the BMC Mod 4.

Small latches are hard to grasp on to so large latches started being made. Large latches stress the charging handle more than small ones and are the causes of breakages. If you baby the charging handle, it won't break. If you only use the charging handle once, it won't break. If you train with your rifle a lot, then it might break.
If you are not going to train for malfunctions and use your rifle a lot, the BCM probably isn't for you.

Like everyone else, I love my BCM mod 4 (medium latch). Strongest I have ever used, and much easier to manipulate with the support hand for malfunction clearances, etc.
