That was a nice shooting piece! I was amazed at with the felt recoil or lack thereof. Handled well, seemed balanced and solid. I didn't have time to shoot the KAC 6x35.

I would guess SCAR pushed 1.5-2 yrs to the right. Numerous problems thus far.... bolts breaking at 500rds, etc.

Even on the 5.56mm models?

I asked the FN rep there and he said mid 08 for civvy release.

Be carefull on the heavy if it has an Acog with thumb screws--my left thumb is smaller now after charging it.

That is part of the problem with the SIG 556, Masada, and SCAR...Charging handle location sucks if you mount optics. And you dont want a riser because those sights are already tall as well.

The Charging handles are Ambi, and are able ot be set up in any configuration your wish. The mounts on the ACOGs can be reversed just as easy.

Interesting. Heat and pressure is what kills bolts so as a gas piston weapon, I would think the heat portion of this equation would be done with.
