I bought one Mag yes I know just one. I also bought 2 boxes of .223 I loaded one Mag and now I have 10 rounds left more. When I buy the nexy mag I will still buy 2 boxes but put one into stock.

Does anyone else do that buy ammo at the same time you buy mags? This is not cheap .223 like wolf this is Match 62+ grain stuff.

I usually buy mags in batches of 3 or 10. I usually don't load them until I head to the range. I load my mags to 28 rounds unless they're HK mags which I load to 30. I buy ammo by the case.

Pretty much the same here (except no HK mags).

Perhaps Rem/Win/Fed should start selling 223/5.56 in 28-round boxes.

I have been buying my Mags is lots of six as I can afford them I have also been buying 223 Ammo. 200rds at a time this is Fiocchi 55gr FMJ $14 box of 50 and when my dealer runs out thats it he said. Right now I have about 20 30rd Mags and 10 20rd Mags. I try to get them all tested by using them at range. I also have some Defence type Ammo. loaded in tested Mags for use when needed.

Many of us here have been at this quite awhile (decades for me) and have acquired enough ammo to hold us over till we scratch up the $$$ for another case (or two/three/pallet), so buying a box here and there doesn't really pertain to many of us.

Same with AR mags... The LEAST I have ever bought is 10. FAL mags, when I find a good stash, are bought in whatever quantity is available. I do puy pistol mags one to three at a time though. I think I have reached my MAG threshold for MY NEEDS, so I don't pay much attention to them now... except for the new PMAG.

I personally am rebelling against the AMMO CRAZINESS by not buying any more... but I bought heavy in the 80's, 90's and did some good trades. Ammo prices today are INSANE... I also HANDLOAD the big money rounds (match-grade stuff).

Keep buying whenever you can. Start saving for a CASE of 5.56... You'll get there... unless you blow out 1000's of rounds when you go out shooting.

I usually buy mags in 4, 10, or 15 batches sometimes I get a little lower price buying in quantity.

All the time I have about 14 30rd mags loaded in my chest rig mag carrier.

I load 28 rounds on my USGI mags, 30 rounds on my C Products stainless steel and HK mags.

I buy ammo in bulk like around 500 to 1K and usually stock about 2K of 5.56, 1K of Winchester 55gr white box and 1K of 62gr Canadian SS109 surplus.

How many rounds are in a case of ammo? 1000? 500?

An 840 round USGI can yields 30 28-round magazines. (But not 28 30-rounders; it's simply not done.)

On cases, the last Q3131A case I bought had 1000 rounds. But that was three years ago.:(
