Im seriously contemplating a 7.5" PDW type upper for my SBRed lower.

I know that they can be finicky with ammo and the short barrel doesn't allow for alot of velocity.

But this is just so damn good looking

No complaints on mine - it's a factory-built DPMS upper and has run just fine with everything I've tried in it. It is obnoxiously loud, and I tend to not shoot it a lot. I may eventually put a 12.5" barrel on it and get another suprpessor.

Right now, it's actually got a ciener kit in it. I shoot it more like that.

A friend of mine has a 7.5" barrel with a Noveske KX3 like what you have pictured. It is loud and the flaming pig is aptly named for that particular barrel length setup. Another friend of mine has a 10.5" with a KAC NT4 which seemed not as loud and not as bright outdoors, but indoors was a different story altogether. For what it's worth, the 7.5" barrel seems adequate for our purposes, looks great with the KX3 and has no issues. Obviously one cannot put on a QD suppressor with the KX3 on it, so it is limited in that regard. As always, YMMV.

I purchased one of Wes Grants first 7.5" uppers a few years ago. Its had thousands of rounds through it and made it through a few carbine courses without any problems.

Accuracy is good for what it is but you need to keep in mind it was intended for shooting accross a room rather than long distance.
