so i'm following the tutorial on ar15's site, trying to put in my LPK. it's late and the family has turned in, so can i skip some steps? I want to install at least the front and rear pivot pins, and the buffer stop and spring.

can i do this without screwing everything up or is there stuff that has to be done FIRST.

2) Looking at the buffer retainer and spring, is the spring about the same diameter as the take down springs just a bit shorter?

this is my first build btw.

I did them out of order and didn't seem to have much trouble.

Just make sure you're using the correct springs/detents on the right parts.

No! Take down springs are smaller diameter than the buffer retainer spring.

so it normal for the disconnecter to cause a "lip" in the trigger assembly? I couldn't get the pin to go in so i pulled it out and was looking at it.

Without the disconnecter in there is a perfect cylindrical path for the pin to go through. When I put in the disconnecter it does not sit flush, thus creating a blockage in the pin's path. or do i just need to push harder?

Move the disconnector up, down and around while applying pressure to the pin. The holes are not lining up due to the disconnector's spring tension. Overcome that tension and align the holes by applying pressure with your fingers. Another way is use a slightly smaller diameter slave pin then wiggle the disconnector while inserting the actual pin.
