AR sight issue

I recently got a Stag Arms, Model 3 flattop. I managed to pick up front & rear sights from a S&W M&P 15. I cannot get the front sight high enough or rear sight low enough to get the impact of the round on target. Any suggestions.

The railed gas block on your Stag Model 3 is slightly lower than the rail on your upper receiver, that's the problem. The BUIS that you are using from the S&W gun are designed for use with a railed handguard system - meaning that the rear BUIS and front BUIS are on the same plane.

That's why Stag sells the Samson front flip sight on their website and they specify that it's not designed for use with railed handguards.

Thanks for the info. Do you know of any other front BUIS that would work with the M&P rear? I shall pay attention to detail in the future.
