WAY OFF TOPIC: I'm looking to buy a new electric shaver. What's the best? What say you? Thanks...

Braun makes a good shaver... as does norelco and wahl. Norelco is probably the best bang for your buck.

I had a short period where I switched to an electric shaver and the only one that would not iritate the shit out of my skin was a Norelco. They have ones that use a lotion cartridge which lets you squeese Nivia lotion onto the shaver head. Seemed to work okay, but I went back to the razer.

when i got to iraq i purchased a Braun Series 3 340. ive used several electric razors before and this is my fave. I use it off and on, but ive had it almost a whole year using it for most of the time, and i havent had to replace a screen or the blades. i know on my norelco that screen would break every 4 weeks or so.

I've been using a Norelco (rechargable) for about a year now..It's worked fine, Gives me a decent shave, maybe not as close as a razor, but, I can't see paying $20 or more for blade cartridges, to get a close shave..

I use a Norelco Spectra from 2001. It cost me $100 then and $30 a year for replacement heads. It will get as close as a regular razor, but sometimes takes a little bit longer. One thing to note is that it will take a few shaves to get used to it. I would suggest spending ~$50-60 and get one that will work wet or dry. Ignore the Nivea cartridge ones, I had one two years ago and returned it before 30 days. No matter how it was used, it got gummed up on me and caused issues.

Been using a Braun for nearly 20 years, no complaints. Well, not the same one but have always stayed with the brand. No particular reason and that's not to say that others aren't as good or even better but it was my first and has worked well for me.

I've tried a few and all seemed to burn the holy shit out of my face.

I've been told that using that "Electra Shave" before you use one of those is a must.

Or tear out hairs if you don't shave for a few days, and leave random patches/hairs.

I gave up on them.

+1 for the Braun. I have one that has a base that charges it and cleans it with an alcohol solution. I like it much more than the Norelcos I had owned in the past. It definitely makes a difference to replace the foil every 18 months or so to keep the shave close.
