Hi everyone. I am curious about the way some rifles look with different hand guards and rails. I am kinda confused on why some rifles with a rail have a delta ring and others don't (or at least they don't show). Also some of the rings appear to be different sizes. Is there and advantage on having a rail with a delta ring? Thanks in advance.

Some use delta rings, some don't. Some are free float, some are not. Just depends on the manufacturer and the design. Some are made to work with it, and others need it removed.
And there's only one size of delta ring. You're probably mistaking a rail system's own round barrel nut for a delta ring.

Advantage is you can change back to handguards later or or install the rail without having to remove Delta Ring assembly--in other words, its an easy install whereas most of the rails that require removal of the Delta Ring also require removal of the Front Sight assembly, whcih, with its Taper Pins, can be a real bitch.
