Our power went out at 11:30 pm and I waited 30 minutes to call. I called on my cell and instead of pressing 1 for power outage, in the dark I pressed 2. 2 is for natural gas leaks. About half a ring later I was talking to an operator. She didn't know my area was affected, so I guess it was good to call.
Gotta love a laptop with a cellular wlan card.
