Im thinking about one for my Surefire G2. I was looking at the "M30" but I was wondering if anyone else had used any of these before?

I've had an M60L in my G2 for almost two years now, and it's been mounted on a couple of different ARs over that time. Works great and never had a single problem. That's my only experience with the Malkoffs but it's been 100% positive.

I have some M60s and M60LFs and like them very much. I was slow to come around to the aftermarket drop-ins, but now find Malkoff GTG. Credible others like TNVC as well, but I have little experience with them.

Im sure you guy noticed a big difference when you replaced the surefire unit? Im thinking this light will be mounted on my SCAR for night time coyote and rabbit shooting....

I've got a two M61's in 6P's and they are great. Have them both mounted on AR's and have about 1000 shots through them and they just keep on working.

I have an M60WF (warm flood) in mine and love it. For your intended use, you might consider the M60W for better throw.

DO NOT use an M30 in your G2. The M30 is designed to run off a single 3.7 volt 18650 rechargable battery. Trying to power it with two 3 volt CR123A cells will destroy it.

18650 rechargables are slightly wider in diameter than 123s, and won't fit into a 2-cell surefire body unless the inside diameter is bored out slightly. Bored Surefire lights and bodies that accept 18650s can be found at www.oveready.com if you're dead set on running an M30.

If not, you want an M60 or M61, which is designed to run off 6 volts. Unfortunately, they can be a real bitch to find, depending on which variation you want.

I think you'll find the M61 best suited for your use.

I have an M60 in a Surefire P9 and it is an awesome light. Also have an M60 in a SF Scout light. Both are GTG.

Recently got 2 more M61s, one to put in a G2L. I have tried my M60 in my currently G2L and it works great.

The Malkoff drop-ins are great mods to SF lights, and Gene Malkoff will stand behind his products 100%.
