Ok, this may be a dumb question, but can you convert a lower with an m4 stock to an A2 stock? I know the collaspable stock is attached with a nut, but what about the A2? Is it a different setup on the lower itself?

Yes you can convert from an M4 to an A2.

Once you unscrew the castle nut from the M4 stock, pull back on the end plate. This will expose the take down pin spring. Be careful not to loose or damage this spring.

Hold your thumb on the buffer detent and unscrew the M4 extention tube.

Obtain the A2 extention tube and screw it on. Make sure that you hold down on the buffer detent so the extention tube goes over the shelf of the detent to hold it into place.

I don't remember if there is a torque required for the A2 extention tube, I just screw it on hand tight + 1/4 turn.

Now slide on the A2 stock. The stock will keep the take down pin spring and detent in place. Screw in the stock screw, if there isn't any loctite on the screw, I use a little blue loctite to keep it from backing out.

Insert the rifle lenght buffer and action spring (buffer spring) you should be GTG.
