View Full Version : I need some 1" HK Snap Hooks
Anyone know of an in-stock source? Everywhere I look appears to be out. I've tried the 1.25" and they don't work as well for me or for my needs. Prefer steel over zinc.
Rob, looks like Blackstone Tactical has steel 1" BFG hooks in stock. http://www.blackstonetactical.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=295
ARFCOM01 will get you free shipping to boot. Have ordered from them a half dozen times, and they are quick to ship.
EMDOM USA (http://prostores2.carrierzone.com/servlet/emdomusa/Detail?no=49)has some.

Lowy Enterprises has them in Black, Tan, or Green for about $2.50 each.
Sorry guys, this fell off my radar. Topher I'm sending you a PM. I only need 2 or 3.
Did you know that all snap hooks are not the same? the one on the right is the one I'm used to, and the one I have n my main sling. in response to this thread one of the members was nice enough to send me some hooks. I finally got around to setting up my twin sling, and lo and behold they are not the same. not only are they not the same but the hook on the left is actually much more difficult to use for my applications.
Going to have to try to source more of the one on the right.

I got a surplus G3 sling from CTD. Kept the HK hook and threw the sling in the trash.

Rob, the hook you show on the right is the same kind I recommended to you from Lowy.

Rob, I've been running a couple of the Steel 1" HK Snap Hooks from these guys for about a year now without a problem. They go for $2.50 each. I think that they charged me about 50 cents for shipping. Its not exactly the same profile as the one you've pictured on the right, but its close.

Not exactly but I suppose they are close enough. Looks like the same thing from Strapworks above.

The hooks on the right are Blackhawk.

rob_s,
Not all the steel ones are the same either. The "best" ones have the wings on the end of the gate soldered with an additional side to form 3 sides of a box around the tip of the hook. The other ones just have two protective wings float. HTH-

I'd like to wind up with the exact hook on the right as I know that this type works for my purposes. FWIW, it came on a Troy single-point sling.

I appreciate the effort anyway. I had no idea there were so many different types. It's just as bad when it comes to looks I'm finding b
Thought I'd bump this again as I'm still in search of the hooks on the right from the photo I posted. Someone mentioned they were Blackhawk but that doesn't look right based on this (http://www.uscav.com/productinfo.aspx?productid=10661&tabid=548).

I appreciate the attempt, but I think that was posted before, and it is not the same as the hook I already have.

Rob,
If you ever find that right-hand hook (from the photo), please let us know. It looks like a good one that I'd like to try.
