Hey Guys,
I was just issued a spankin' new 229R. I have to provide my own light if I want one. My old M3X is too big.
for those of you that have 229Rs with lights, what kind are you running?
Thanks :)
Well, I don't have a Sig, but I'm a fan of the Streamlight TLR-1's personally.

Maybe I confused people, My problem is the M3X is too big for the short railed-dustcover, it latches, but it hangs over, it doesn't "flow" like it did with my old Glock.
I'm thinking all lights of a similar style would be similarly too big. The only compact light I know of is the X2 by Insight, but it is a sleepy 40 lumens. Are there any other small-ish lights out there besides the X2?
If there are no other smaller lights designed for compacts, I'll probably use the M3X until I can save the coin for an X300.
Thanks

I ran a TLR-1 on my 229, and I have a Raven Phantom LC for the 229 w/ TLR-1 attached that I'm trying to get rid of, if you decide to go the TLR-1 route and are interested in a Raven, let me know. I have never used an X300, but my TLRs have held up well. The last one I got was the TLR-1s, with the strobe function, but I still haven't figured out what to use it for. The TLR-1s is a little brighter than my other TLR-1, though. I'd like to try an X300, but the TLR is cheaper.
Well the X300 is a pretty long light and would stick out quite a bit past the muzzle of a 229.
I personally would go with the Streamlight TLR on a Sig.
Streamlight TLR-3 is a compact light, but when you say issued, I'll assume this is a duty weapon. A few months ago when I was looking for a light, there were NO duty holsters available for guns with TLR-3 lights.. Might be now though..
TLR3 on my P229 SCT, ignore the Mosquito, its the only pic I have of the 229 with the light.
