Hello all, as a "newbie" I can't tell you how much valuable information I have gleaned from this forum. It is really a pleasure to be part of something where people are truly so knowledgeable and helpful....thanks everyone !

On another note, I unfortunately live in NJ where we are restricted to a maximum of 15 round mags. I have been unable to find any anywhere but have heard there may be some outfits that can modify 30 rounders to hold only 15, but know of no such company. I also wanted to know what the consensus is for the best quality magazines out there is. I know 10 round mags exist and have heard Magpul is good but am not familiar with them. I am getting a quality carbine and want to be sure the mags I use will be of the same level. If anyone knows a place where I can get 30 rounders fixed to hold 15 that would be great also.
many thanks,

Dr. Mike

I live in NY and were limited to 10, but we can use preban 30 rd mags. I have Colt prebans but in my search for mags i found these. http://www.calegalmags.com/1030magpulpmag.html Check NJ law to see if you can use preban mags as im unsure of the details.

Why do states come up with these stupid laws? Seriously what can someone do with 30 rounds in a magazine that someone can't due with 2 15 round magazines? Besides a two second pause while dropping a swapping mags?

Magpul PMAGs are the best mags available. In the next few months they are coming out with some ban compliant mags, so I would check in with them and follow their website. Their catalog had the details.
