My 6920 needs a rifle case, I like the soft cases and have a couple Galati's for various rifles, any other suggestions? I know some people can careless what their rifle goes in but why bang up a rifle if you don't need to ;) I had an Eagle buttstock pad for a bolt gun which was really nice but never any of their rifle cases. Thanks!

And since we're on the topic, whats a good discreet bag for mags and a pistol for car carry? like a range bag or Messenger bag?

I bought an i-shot on Grant's (of G&R Tactical) advice. It is hands down, the best soft case I have seen. It is not cheap, but it is worth every dollar in my opinion. Mine is 30" so I had to get it direct, but Grant has a case that would fit an M4 I think. Give him a try!

I have two Eagle Industries cases and have been very pleased with them, as well as the other EI stuff I have used. One is an Assault Weapon case, I think that's what it's called. It's 40 to 42"s. The second case is a 35" discreet case. It can carry a 16" barreled AR with a full stock, and a second gun with a collapsible stock in the side pocket.

I know it is from cheaper than dirt and is a knock off but I own one and it is a damn nice bag. It will hold up pretty good I have put mine through hell on range trips.

I'm in the Assault Systems Soft case club as well.... That bad boy is close to 20 yrs old, and they are currently replacing my zipper for me.

My other Soft case is an Eagle

Between these two and the Ishot... you pretty much cannot go wrong with any of the three.

The Eagle Discreet LE cases are excellent. The outer compartment is separated from the main one and has mag carriers along with some webbing inside. It fits a Sully stocked Colt carbine perfectly.

For soft cases I use Eagle and I-Shot.

For hard cases I use Pelican and Starlight.

I got one of the Eagle Discreet Cases in Ranger Green. Excellent case. The interior is just a touch over 35" long, fwiw.

I like my Eagle discreet case. It's a nice blue color which makes it especially discrete.

1. Someone over at AR-15 forum special ordered a batch (100?) discreet cases in a color I'd describe as Nike or Wilson blue. That's an interesting variation.

Brownell's has something like a discreet case that will accommodate an M-4. It is Molle compatible, which may reduce it's discreet properties somewhat.

M4 Rifle Case

2. I'd thought about trying a short case to carry the separated upper & lower. I'd mentioned it to EI four plus years ago, they said they couldn't meet the demand for their other products as it was.

Military Morons has a case for a separated M-4 on their site, but I think that it may be designed for a 14.5" barreled upper.

Maxpedition now has a discreet soft case that hold two guns for a very attractive price. Anyone have one?

Back in the 80's Gibson electric guitars used to have an available hard case. It held a Colt AR-15 SP-1 Carbine, extra mags, and a bandolier of M193 quite easily.

It was a plastic molded hard case that looked more "modern" than a traditional case. Since it said "Gibson" on the side, and was still obviously for a guitar, it was quite descreet. People figured you were just toting your guitar around with you.

I don't think they make them anymore, though I'm sure you can find one on the net somewhere. However, you might check out music cases made today. I'm sure the technology is better nowdays, and they should be the same interior size. There's not much you can change there.

Sorta the modern day violin case.

I use an iShot C.E.R.T. case and love it.

Easily one of the nicer nylon cases made.

+100 on the iShot case

I just received my new 30” S.E.R.T Tactical Carbine Case from iShot. This bag is everything I have read about. I haven't had a chance to get it out and use it but I am absolutely certain it will perform as good as it looks. I spent a lot of time researching what case I wanted and I am definitely satisfied with this bag from iShot.

The other great report I have is that the folks at iShot are great to deal with. I called last Friday to order the bag. My order was shipped that day, they provided tracking information and the bag arrived today (Tuesday). I guess some of the credit goes to the shipping company but east to west coast in 4 days is great. The part I like is that iShot got my order out the same day and did everything they said they would.

I would completely recommend this rifle case to anyone looking for a new case. I am more than happy to post pictures for anyone that would like to see more detail just let me know.

I've been on a soft case kick the last few years, because I always used the cheaper plastic / freebie cases with the clam shell foam.

I have three cases that I used regularly... They can be seen in this photo:

For my UZI, I use an Assault Systems size 1 case...

For my 11.5" SBR AR-15, I use a Blackhawk! case...

For my 16" M4 type AR, I use a Eagle Discreet Carry case from a group buy over on arfcom last year... I can put my side folding 10/22 in the front pocket...

Waller also makes a "discreet case", very similar in outer appearance to the Eagle offering pictured above. Rather pricey, but absolute top-shelf, with a keyed zipper lock, four internal magazine pouches, and two internal zippered mesh pouches, and three velcroed strap downs to secure the rifle.

I have been very pleased with mine. Waller claims they developed it at the request of the FBI; which may explain why it costs $140...

I also use a Waller Case. My 10+ year old case had a zipper break (my fault). Sent it to Waller for repair. They sent me a brand new current addition case. No Charge. Great Service

The Waller also (if I recall) has some heat shielding layers and enough foam to enable it to float.

Impact case and container stainless 16 x 36. It came with 2" of foam(top and bottom) which I cut for rifle, pistol, mags, light, laser etc... I like it alot. I've never been a big fan of soft cases.

I'm using Blackhawk and Tactical Taylor discreet soft cases and Pelican for hard cases. Though I like TT gear I'm not a fan of their soft case. It's a little too soft IMO.

I-Shot cases are very good, and you can get them from Grant at G&R Tactical.

For a hard case...nothimg beats Pelican.

I have 2 Blackhawk cases's, one is a black discreet 36" case for duty and the other is the 2 rifle case that they sold in OD green. It is, I think 38" and holds 2 rifles, shotguns, etc.:)

I've got a Tactical Tailor bag and a Pelican Case. I usually use the TT one cause it is nice and light and easier to carry with everything else when going to the range, but I had to get the Pelican to fly with and to ship my weapons up to AK.
