Hello Neighbor.
I was wondering where you all shoot/shop? I have been mostly purchasing on-line and shooting at Impact Guns (as I am up north) but I was curious what other options are out there.

Hello there!
I shoot at the Wahsatch Shooters Range (http://www.wahsatchshooters.com/Main.aspx) in Kaysville and Impact in Ogden.
I am a Range Officer at Wahsatch so I am up there pretty frequently.
Hey there. Up in Evanston, but I shop at Impact from time to time. I generally just drive out of town 5 minutes in any direction and shoot, but during the winter, I like to make a few trips to the Impact indoor range.

If I need a range, I will usually go to Impact Guns - West Salt Lake (http://www.impactguns.com/store/salt_lake_map.html) or Get Some - Murray (http://www.getsomeguns.com/). Other than that I usually head out to the desert.
As far as gun shops go I am a fan of Gallenson's (http://maps.google.com/maps/place?hl=en&rlz=1G1GGLQ_ENUS243&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=gallensons+guns+utah&fb=1&gl=us&hq=gallensons+guns&hnear=utah&cid=1047769973065544287) in Salt Lake. They have a great selection and their prices are good. I bought five PMags and a carbine buffer there yesterday.

Do they still have the shooting screen with the Shoot/No Shoot senario thingamajigger? Years ago, my brother and I got to run it for about an hour. Talk about getting the hair on the back of your neck standing up!

I will have to stop by. Some friends of mine and folks I work with came down about a week or two ago and said it was nice.

I purchased a membership to wasatch shooters in Kaysville this year. Very happy with this range. Friendly staff and not a lot of nonsense to deal with.

Wasatch is the best range around IMO. If you enjoy shooting and want to support the shooting community, go volunteer to be a range officer, we need more RO's willing to give their time.
Heading out to the desert early tomorrow morning for what my neighbor calls "Homeland Defense Training". Starting Memorial Day off with a bang. :p
Howdy
I tend to just drive out somewhere in the desert/BLM land and set up shop...

In SLC. I shoot out in the desert mostly, toward Tooele.
I'm a desert rat too, though only on week days to avoid the crowds. I go on the west side of the lake. The "brass catchers" are getting bad. Every time I go, someone shows up trying to scoop up my brass before I'm done shooting. It pisses me off. I believe they sit and listen, then hone in on the high volume shooters.
I used to have access to the Salt Lake Co SO range up Parley's Canyon....that place was sweet.
The Holliday Gun Club shut down. I used to go up there and shoot to my hearts content, while the old guys shot trap and skeet. It is gone now. I don't have a decent range anywhere near my location. Folks tend to frown on me doing anything but static shooting where ever I go.
Weather is supposed to be nice this weekend, I think some range time is in order.
