There are more pro-gun citizens in CA than any others state. Unfortunately, there are also more anti-gun folks in CA than any other state, and they outnumber us -- so we get screwed a lot.

That doesn't make them right.

I'm not even sure there are more anti-gun people in Kalifornia, I just think there are more anti-gun Politicians and stupid people looking for handouts that elect them. :(

Maybe, coupled with the McDonald decision, the days of Kalifornia may be coming to an end and I we will spell it California again. Something needs to come to a head in the state as mean as it sounds. Just like an addict will not seek treatment until they find themselves naked in a dumpster, the people of Kalifornia will not wake up until they find themselves in a bankrupt state with an government ineffective to deal with crime and natural disasters.

funny you mention that..... Kinda, and I used to work for CalFire in Alta, so I know that whole area pretty well. Hell I learned how to shoot when I was a kid in Colfax.

I'm not exactly a BMW guy more of a Car guy. I mostly do(did) VWs (watercooled) right now but have had a 2002, an E28 and a couple E30's (one of which was SUPER cool with M3 brakes and red leather interior, but a hole in the block the size of a coke can)most of which I never got to drive because I was younger and retarded. Anyhow now that I'm old and a little smarter and slightly less retarded(if you want to call it that) my wife and I now have 1.5 year old twins so we have had to give up our fun cars, for stuff thats a little ether more reliable or fitting for a family of 4.

Wifes old car....

That is so cool! Life does come at you fast. I couldn't do twins. I have 3 girls so twins might be easy in comparison :D

Where do you shoot? Private property seems to be the only place I can stomach anymore. Although the bridge in colfax was cool too! We have no sanctioned ranges up here. Gladding McBean in lincoln is the closest that I know of that entertains the word "public" on occasion.

yeah I am trying to be a member at the Lincoln gun club but I only shoot out there for the "practical" shoot, I pretty much just have a hoop or two left to jump through left to be a member..... one hoop being to come up with a bunch of money.

you are 100% correct Twins..... pretty much like 3 kids of different ages....
but the good news is its a boy and a girl.... even at a year and a half she rats him out already its pretty funny.

I totally understand about the private property thing, a couple weeks ago a friend and I went to the range in Oroville, and after a cease fire...... my friend went right on out and then Pop, pop.... the morons a car or two over started shooting. My friend was only 20 yards out, and the guy didn't see him. Normally I go to Spenceville but it was PACKED!! so off we went to get shot at. I kinda miss the Colfax BLM spot it was close enough I could head up after work for a couple hours, everything else is an outing.

Yeah I have spent a day or two driving around Foresthill with a truck full of enough guns and ammo to take over a 3rd world country and it took us most of the day to find anything and two of us know the area pretty well. But again from Roseville it takes forever to even get to the spot we did find. The main reason I go to Spenceville is that there are a LOT of people that go out there with .223 that don't care to pick up their trash....... so we do and we use that opportunity to take their brass home with us. Last time out we brought home 2 trash bags of 12ga spent garbage rounds, a bunch of trash and 2 gallon sized bags of .223 brass. :D

It is Burro Canyon and they have a web site that has a map and some pics of the range. The place is mellow unless you do something stupid like walk out onto the range while it is hot. Then you get yelled at a lot at the very least, sometimes thrown out very far and very fast.

It was 60$ the last time we went and 15 $ each after that. We had a blast and spent all day and 1500 rounds of 5.56.

You need to clean up after yourself, but if you shoot fruit you can leave it, the animals come down out of the hills and eat it. Watching a watermelon hit with 7.62R out of a Mosin is awesome and I made my son bayonet the carcass with the built-in. He didn't even know it had a bayonet.

You can't use metal target frames so I built some out of PVC with 1x wooden uprights worked great.

Thats a really good price, I don't mind cleaning up, I save all my brass anyway. Ive got some wood target frames that are pretty decent as well.

Brass you can leave, they don't like people shooting clay pigeons and leaving the carcasses. I have found 5.56 orange tips, I was told that those are AP, after a sheriffs shoot. They left enough unfired that I went to the range office with a sample to make sure I didn't get blamed for bring it in. They said the SO never picks up unfired rounds.

Buck a couple of questions, I'll ask them on line in case someone else has the same.
What range will you be using?
Does the range have permanent facilities?
Do your classes allow for people who have issues with standing or running. I am fluffy guy with bad knees and Charcots, if I can use my power chair to sit during lectures and down times I am fine.
I have been shooting for many years but I have never taken any formal classes, I believe I have many bad habits that need correction, is that possible to do so in the classes or would that just hold up things.
Thanks

Does the range have permanent facilities?

Yes

Yes and No... The classes I teach will move a certin pace to ensure that the students that are attending are getting a fair return for what they have paid to attend he class; However, the facility is modern and handicap accesable and this is not the Corps or the Academy. If you need a break or can not complete a drill, you are not going to be thrashed in the pit...

Thanks

I hope this answers your questions...

Hey guys,

I don't want to say much since I'm not sure what's allowed or if it would be frowned upon, but there's an interesting business opportunity that just opened up in California. It started here in TX, so that's how I'm involved, and just opened in California on Sept. 27th!

It's not gun related, but could definitely help pay for all our "bad" gun habits ;)

If you're interested in checking this out, please either PM me or email me at bgonzo8@verizon.net

Thanks.

Greetings my fellow M4Cers, don't mean to derail here, but want to throw something out to you guys. I'll keep it short, so if any of you guys in Cali are in the PG&E electricity/gas territory (or if you know someone in that territory) AND are open to looking at a side business opportunity, contact me via PM. Have an interesting opportunity to share with y'all, if interested.

Thanks.

Cool. I have a couple of shooting buds (we like to 3gun) that live in Mission V. Do you go to On Target as your indoor range?

With all the support I’m seeing for Trump, even in the Bay Area and SoCal, I’ll be staying put here in NorCal. I honestly think CA is turning back to red again. I know it sounds over the top ridiculous, but from all the comments I’ve been reading this summer and the general attitude amongst other Californians, they’re fed up with liberalism.

Will do. Used to go with the guys down in MV sometimes on Wed. That was their middle of the week shooting day, but since the Rona and the ammo situation, it's been hit or miss.
