2-3 years?

I'm curious if the low sales volume and complex changes that will be needed to the slide (while keeping a similar slide mass) will significantly delay their release.

Probably never.

I asked at SHOT, there weren't even plans for it.

I just want to see a Gen4 21SF.

That'll probably happen. I do think they're planning to drop the 21SF ambi mag catch in the future. It was a failure by Biblical proportions. Lots of LE agencies wanted it and then when the got them and seat belts and other things started hitting the mag catch they changed thier minds. The picatinny rail is stupid too.

I'd buy a Gen 4 G-35 tomorrow if they released one....

Me too but they say the numbers of G34s/G35s are way lower than everything else. It wouldn't even be frickin' rocket-science to do it. Just make the G35 slide accept the new recoil spring and wala!

Buzzkill. I was really hoping for 34. If Gen4 17 is reported to shoot soft and flat, just imagine how it could be with Gen4 34...

FWIW the Glock 17 Gen 4 shoots just as flat to me as a Glock 34 Gen 3.

Yes, quite a few mentioned that fact. I understand it is attributed to a dual recoil spring and all those rumors about impending changes make me pause. If Glock does away with it in Gen4 17, then I'd imagine Gen3 34 would have an edge here. Just speculations.

I suspect Glock will just use a lower spring constant dual recoil spring in the Gen 4 G17.

I don't have a G34 slide in front of me--wouldn't Glock have to make some substantial changes to the slide--you couldn't just enlarge the hole for the recoil assembly given the profile of the G34 slide.

I am wanting a 34 and maybe a 35 4th Gen. That would be great for gun games. Dissapointing to hear they may not be available.

Too bad...I would think the grip texture of the Gen4 (or the RTF2) would be a nice feature for Glock's game guns. As was mentioned it would be a relatively easy design change to make a Gen4 34/35.

Even if it was on the menu, it'd be awhile. Look at how long it's taken to get from the 17/22 to the 19/23. Other guns like the 21 and 37 would get priority over the 34/35 as well.

That and the mag release.

Yep, they weren't too keen on doing them at first. They were telling us that they didn't even think they make it (Summer 2010).

We've had some Glock 35 Gen 4s quite a while ago come through the shop and at the SHOT Show Glock had Glock 34 Gen 4s at their booth which means most likely they'll be shipping very soon.

I think the Gen4's are going to be seen throughout most if not all of the line up.

I got a price quote from our regional Glock rep on a complete package (pistol, holsters, light) for the G21 and sf versions about 6 months ago. He related that he did not think the G21 was going to be a Gen4 which is what I really wanted to look at. He is a very good guy and genuine straight shooter. I just don't think he had that info. Anyway, I decided not to push the purchase issue with my agency and decided to wait. Gen 4 G21's are in the mix now. :)

However the pistols are going to have to wait as I am spending a good chunk of change swapping our 14.5's and going shorter.
