I live in NH, but juuust over the border. I can literally walk to the NH/ME border from my house in about 10 minutes.

Allows me all the tax-free advantages of NH without giving up the recreational fun of Maine :dance3:

I did go to school in Maine, the maritime academy over in Castine. Awesome state! If it werent for the income tax being so high I'd have moved there instead of NH probably...I LOVE the Portland area. Im about 50 minutes away from Portland as it is, which isnt bad...

Got off active duty in Brunswick, was living just over the border in NH until a few months ago. Still a member at the Berwick range and shop a lot at KTP. I was at both on Friday.

I kinda wish I were closer to Kittery. I love checking the used misc. bins. Last time I was there I picked up two slightly used Pmags for $12 each and a Redi-mag. Once, I picked up a magazine for my H&K VP70Z for $20! SCORE!!!

I get most of my firearms from them, probably 40% are used ones. They have such a large selection of used stuff and they have done right by me so far. It's fun to watch tourist freak out at the guns and the massholes complain about the stuff they can't buy!

KTP does have some nice finds and I've bought a few guns there. I'd probably buy more if they weren't so far away. Also, I don't know if prices are negotiable on the used stuff like they are at a smaller gun shop. It's the same thing with Cabela's used guns. I've seen some guns that would've been nice to take home but I didn't really want to spend the full amount on the tag (+ tax.) Also, they probably can't throw in a box of ammo or an extra mag like the small shops can.

They do negotiate somewhat, but I have spent a metric ton of cash with them over the last 12 months, to the point were most everyone on the gun floor knows me by name, so that may have some influence. Being from NH, that pesky tax things not an issue.

South Portland here, was Lebanon, ME until a few months ago.
For those that are fond of KTP, go to Rennaisance Firearms in Gonic, NH (Rochester, NH). Ernie Shipman is the owner. Great guy, great gun shop. Blows KTP away. Give him a try.

I bought two guns there, did not have a good experience,YMMV. KTP has a bigger selection of new and used guns then RF.
I will say that RF does have some interesting long guns and had a lot of bulk ammo that you can not find at KTP.

Another NH here...
I've had decent luck with KTP, though pricing isn't the best. Didn't even know of the place in Gonic will have to give it a try. Esp if they carry reloading supplies. Certainly closer than driving all the way out to Riley's in hookset.

I live in central maine, Durham area. If anyone has any questions about AR's I am more than willing to meet up and help out. I am not an armorer, but have been fixing them for 15 years. Still in the Army fulltime.

Hey i'm going to visit my Family In Saco in the end of February, and was wondering if there were any decent Class 3 dealers in that area to look at Full-Auto's and some Surefire Suppressors?

It has been some years, but I recall shooting at a place north of Bangor, heading out of town on Ohio Street. Smallish place, but may still exist. Also, out on the Bog Road in Hermon.

Another Mainer here...up in the Bangor area. Don't get me wrong-I love all of Maine-but I'm just as happy to pay shipping costs and live nowhere near southern Maine in general. It's like Moscow by the sea down there. (Not to be confused with Wyman Lake)

If you could find a decent range capable of running more than 2 people at a time, I'm all for it.
