Edit: I misread your post. You're no Ben, but your's looks great.

More stippling done in more random patterns and different angles instead of just straight uniform patterns.

There's a reason why folks pay Ben top dollar to texture their guns.

I don't know Ben's secret. A lot of his stipple work appears to look different from gun to gun though. Some seem to look closer to your's (yet still different) and some look like the photo you posted of his work.

Yours isn't looking too bad. You could go back and go over a couple of areas again. I used this tool on my gun with a fine tip and it came out pretty damn nice.

I try to keep the dots as close as possible with a slight overlap on each depression. The fine tip allows you to place lots of tiny indentations, and you can go deeper for a more aggressive stipple job. The sides and backstrap on my M&P frame aren't as aggressive as the front strap, which I made deeper depressions with and randomized it a bit with a brass tip I cut and checkered with a dremel and then went over again with the fine tip. My frontstrap looks close to the picture you posted of Ben's work, where as the sides and backstrap look a lot more like the million little holes in random patterns. I wish I had a decent camera to post pics. My camera phone cannot take a pic worth a damn of the texture. :(

Honestly for the job Ben does, it's a hell of a deal and WELL worth it. The only problem is the turn around time because he is so popular. My M&P is my only pistol and my carry gun and I did not want to be without it so I did the best job I could doing something as close to his work as I could.
