View Full Version : Can you run the BCG from a MP-15 in an M4?

I've been kicking around the idea of getting a 22 conversion for plinking. Then I saw the S&W MP-15 advertised for $415 at Big 5 sports...

This is when the gears started turning.

-Can I take the BCG from the MP-15 and slap it into an M4?
-Will other models of 22 magazines fit with this BCG?
-Are the BCG/internals from the MP-15 pistol the same as the rifle model?

Has anyone else tried this out yet?

This apparatus that resembles a BCG. I'm assuming the MP-15 has one of these on the interior. Will it slide into the upper on a standard ar-15?

M&P15-22 is not a conversion, it's a system designed for .22 rimfire and made to look like an AR-15

If you're gonna buy an MP 15-22 dedicated rimfire AR why on earth would you want to swap its internals into a real AR/M4.....

Like what would you do with the rest of the SW gun?

Instead of spending the $200 and just getting the conversion kit, I could spend $400 and get another rifle. This would allow me to use the dedicated .22 rifle, and maybe shoot .22 out of one of my AR-15s. But since its a completely different set of internals, I'm beating a dead horse.

I shoot the shit out of my spikes kit in my SBR. No problem and with wally-world federal (plated) 22lr, cleaning and fouling isnt even an issue. If your in albuquerque and ever want to try it let me know.....
