I bought a Noveske N4 Recce from Scottsdale Gun Club about a year ago and received a bunch of raffle tickets. Ended up winning a special edition Noveske rifle with Magpul lower for free :D. Best deal ever being that I basically got two Noveskes (one being a very rare collectors item) for the price of one!

It was accurate and never gave me a problem over 300 rounds or so but it was totally ghey so I put it on gunbroker.com and it went up to $750 and then off to its happy adoptive new parents.

It was like this but had the normal CAR buttstock:

I forget the exact $$$ numbers now (i'll go back later and add them in) but my good deal was on an LMT MRP Piston Carbine from VA Arms in Manassas, VA. The original price which was quoted by Bernie was a couple hundred below what the actual cost was when it arrived. Bernie, being the good guy that he is, honored the original quote and ate the difference. I would have been happy to pay the actual cost and told him so but he refused to allow it.

VA Arms is a really good place to buy guns if you are in NoVA. So good in fact that I have bought two CZ Pistols from them since that time and have steered a couple of friends their way, one of whom who has now bought twice from them as well.

Love to see all the great deals everyone is getting/has gotten. I figured I put this up here for people in the market that are new to buying in teh M4/AR/M16 world so they could see that good deals are out there if they are persistent and are an informed consumer. I pay top dollar to have top gear, but paying bottom dollar for top gear is just the best.
Thanks everyone.

I am inclined to agree with you about the Colt. Before I met my better half all I kept was plain old ordinary white towels so I could wash them on hot with my whites. Now I have towels that just hang their and look pretty.

According to the thread title, no, that doesn't count. But any functional AR with a UBR stock and DD rail for $600 is a good deal in my book. At the very least you can take off the good parts and replace them with cheap parts, then resell the neutered rifle for a profit.

I had a soldier come into our shop looking for tactical gear. He was about to deploy and was a little short on cash so he asked if we had any interest in an AR? I said maybe bring it in.

Came back the next day, Bushmaster flat top M4 style carbine, never fired, still had tags hanging on it. Gave him $500 credit towards stuff which really turns out to be about $275~300 out of pocket if you factory in wholesale.

I think he ended up spending $46x.xx something and I just gave him another $100.00 dollar bill and told him to stay safe.

Okay, technically, not a new factory built rifle but only due to a technicality, and that is, I had to install the bcg and snap the upper to the lower.

Here's the stats:
DSA lower, complete $180
DSA Middy Upper $300
DSA BCG $110
DSA Charging Handle $15

All purchased at one time, all delivered together for a total of $605. Purchased in Feb 2010.

Even though not sold as a complete factory gun, all bought at the same time from the same manufacturer. Lots of ARs come with the upper and lower separated anyway, just had to add the bcg to this one to complete it.

When I started this thread, my intent was to see the best deal each individual has gotten, be it a factory new, or full build rifle; either built up by yourself or someone else. I stated "Full build" because I didn't want to see guys putting every single peice of gear up here and what they paid for it ( I imagined getting thousands of hits from guys who got a deal on X gear for X dollars, and that would be a huge waste of time thread; rather just "whole" rifle, wether you bought the parts from 1500 different manufacturers or one, and built it yourself or had someone else build it...). Just a complete rifle be it built by yourself/someone else or factory new...

Again this thread was an attempt to educate those who have yet to buy a rifle and get into this world too deep; to help them see you don't have to spend $2,000.00 for a top shelf weapons system. That way they wouldn't just buy the most expensive gun they could find because "Dan-o gun seller" tells them they have to spend at least X amount of dollars or they get a crap platform. So by all means if you took the time to hunt for cheap but good parts and built a Franken-LWRC for $500.00 bucks, post the sucker!!!!!!!! Let the guys looking to buy a rifle see how good of a deal they can get with a bit of knowledge and patience.
I always hear sellers at gun shows telling the noobs what "They need"; and no surprise it is always the most expensive and/or least quality item on there tables. Just trying to open some eyes. I know when I first went out to buy an AR, I was green as hell; if I wouldn't have been a patient man (two years of research before I was comfortable/knowledgable enough to move forward) and needed to be well informed before my purchase; I more than likely would have ended up with a $1,200.00 Oly arms piece of crap with a DPMS lower/LPK (Wanted an AR type rifle so badly I almost ignored my better judgement and bought this very rifle at Tanner; very glad I did not!) that wouldn't have lasted me much more than a month or so with the way I shoot (lot's and hard) I've seen this scenario too many times, even a family member didn't take my advice and bought the aforementioned POS and he is still pissed that he didn't wait and bought an inferior platform for an inflated price tag!!! Don't want that to happen to other folks. This is a small attempt to help out somehow. Hope it works/helps!

Hope that clears things up regarding what is allowed to be posted in this thread.

Lot's of nice deals on here, keep'em coming!!!!!

I want to know where some of you guys shop!!!!!!!!

1st AR was a brand new M16A1 NIB (still had the preservative on it) cost me three years of sun, sand, and heat plus one combat tour.

2nd AR was a M16A2 NIB in exchange for another four years of sun, sand, and heat (gotta love the West Texas desert and the Arabian peninsula).

3rd deal was a package deal that I couldn't walk away from. One NIB M4 with M68 and 12 GI mags. One NIB M9 with five mags and CT grips (kept those). Unlimited supply of 5.56mm and 9x19mm rounds and a private one way range to practice on. Cost me one year in Iraq with unlimited use of a two way rifle range.

I'm hoping to get a really smoking deal on my next AR.

ahhhh. Sorry to the OP.

I bought a Colt RO635 on a LCW pistol lower and Hahn block from my local FFL for like $600.

One of his buddies sold me 3 new uzi 32 rounders for $30. I modified them and had an awesome running 9mm.

Sold the LCW lower for $200 (complete) when my Form1 came back.

Had $400 in the Colt upper at that point.

Sold it for about $600 later.

I just bought a Daniel Defense M4V3 for my wife's birthday on GB. Price will come to $1170 out the door (MSRP is $1537 on that rifle).
I found it for about $10 cheaper afterwards as Buds sells the DDM4V3 for $1133 delivered (that would be just over $1160 OTD for me).
I checked Buds before going to GB but it's listed as DANDEF DDM4V3 on their site which is why I missed it the first time (!)
Maybe not the 'best' deal but either is a very fair price on a new unit and a lot of rifle for the $$$ IMO... I hope she likes it :)

After putting 300 rounds through it and realizing that the rear sight was off (one click left I believe), I decided in October of 2004 that I needed a new one to replace the worn and defective one I had. I sold it at a $200 profit so the next one only cost $675.

Holy cow.

You should have bought a dozen at that price.

I had to wait a month for Colt to make the second one and that was just too long to go without. Besides, I couldn't find any defects on that second one ;) . If one recalls, that was a tumultuous time for 6920s with the ban ending and all.

$854.50 plus $20 shipping was the individual officer price back then from Simmons, it's gone up a bit since that time. I just wish I'd waited long enough to get an FA carrier as standard equipment.
