View Full Version : 4th gen G19 pic
I lifted this from TOS. Pick taken on 6/17 at the Glock factory. I have no further info.

Looks good. I haven't followed up yet but had good source tell me they should have been released into the wild this week. I know ... it isn't true unless you post pics ... I'm just saying.

I wish they would have added FCS to the Gen4's.

What's a "FCS"?
What's a "FCS"?
Front Cocking Serrations

closer...

Looks like they might have widened the first finger groove area below the trigger guard. If so, great!
The 17/22 and the 26/27 both have 3 rows of checkering between each swell. The 19/23 only have two rows in the area below the trigger guard and it has always felt cramped and caused me to sand down the finger grooves on my 23.
Definitely will be purchased.

Agreed, I hope so, although I want a 17 too since I can't fit my hand on my 19 while wearing gloves. Guess I'll just had to buy all 3 sizes, damn.
In regards to front cocking serrations, why? I've never seen the need...

Because some people can't resist cool-guy press checking. :p
Seriously, I agree. I don't see the need and I don't want to pay for the extra machining. But I do want one of these.

Looks very promising. This will definitely be on my purchase list. Happy Father's Day maybe.......
Im liking it.
It has a slimmer frame than the Gen3 right?

I'm buying one as soon as they hit the shelves....
I was sold on trading up when they were released... until I shot an M&P. I'll see if I can finger bang one when it hits the shelves anyway.
i can't tell in the pic, but is the back strap still inter-changeable? it doesn't look it.

With Glock, the back-straps aren't interchangable, you either add on the medium or large or leave it off for small.

It has the same odd recessed shape for the pin to attach the larger grips. I'm really liking this and I HATE "walking away" from Smith & Wesson as I really like the M&P but a new wave of "something" (some of my fellow brethren call it wisdom) has been driving "Dependability, Reliability, Durability, Serviceability" lately and now that the frames fit ME a helluva lot more comfortably I'm jonesin' Glocks. And it feels good.
I will need to attend Glockaholics Anonymous before it's over; I can just sense it.
My households good Gen 4 G17 experience (3700 flawless rounds through two specimens) has me feeling pretty cocky about being an early adopter for the new 19 also. If there is any chance they will "water down" the springs I'll want one of the first on the chance they introduce with the high octane strength springs to see how those run and handle.
Definitely will be purchased.
+1 same here

Anyone got a run-down on the differences between the gen4 and gen3 G19s?
I'm hoping for a some what slimmer grip and spread out finger grooves.
Wow - the finger grooves, small backstrap - I am liking it.
This does look promising - not looking to get rid of my Gen 3, just give him a friend to share mags with.
Not sure if anyone is aware - but are the triggers compatible with the Gen 3s?
i may need one of those.. :D
the springs are getting tuned down for the 9mm's right?

-RTF 3 texture
-Dual recoil spring
-Multiple backstraps, starts out as a short frame
-Reversible mag release
I've already had my name on the "order list" for months. Should be one of the first people to get them from my Glock dealer, and he is an LE Glock dealer at that! :D
Cant wait!!!
thanks i didn't realize the straps "snapped" on.
i think i like that idea even less.

I think this is the 19 I have been waiting for. I am very eager to handle one and see how I like it.
I wonder if the Ghost 3.5lb + NY1 trigger spring is still going to work with this pistol.

Just an FYI, the straps don't just snap on. They kind of slide on, and are retained by a pin at the top. Unless the weapon was impacted really hard, I can't see back strap retention being an issue.
Thats my next carry pistol once i can get sufficient rounds through it to ensure reliability.

Ditto. Kinda surprised we didn't see the G23 first, though. Perhaps they'll be released simultaneously.

If i'm one of the first, or not, I am on it! I have been saving a few boxes of 124 gr Winchester NATO rounds for this gun to help "loosen" it up with some stiffer rounds...
As far as Gen 3 frames go, the Glock 26 has always been perfect for my hand size/ shape. The gen 3 Glock 19 has always been do-able, but never felt as good as the 26. I have high hopes that this Gen 4 Glock 19 w/ no backstrap will feel even better.
Considering a Gen 3 Glock 17 has always felt like a 6"x4" in the grip, the same pistol in Gen 4 felt awsome!
Fingers crossed it comes in soon....

My source said they will be released simultaneously. I didn't follow up to see if they arrived last week. I'm guessing not though since I haven't
read anything about them on my home forum yet.

Should have gotten rid of the idiotic finger grooves.
What are the new Gen 4 going for?
What are the new Gen 4 going for?
The same as the rest of the Glocks, not including 45/10 and long slides.
Also still 398.20 with the discount for LE/Mil/Fire/EMS

I spoke with a Glock factory rep on Tuesday. He indicated the G19s should be available within 30 days. I didn't ask about the G23.

My little birdie on the inside told me there may or may not be some new G19s waiting to be assembled in Smyrna... :D
(They should be shipping by next week.)
The G23s are still awaiting the final blessing from ATF that Glock likes to get for new designs. Expect about a month to 6 weeks on these.
Also, the 02 Glock 17 springs should be in within the next 2 weeks for those that need them. New guns are starting to go out with them installed.

So...are these Gen4 G19s going to come with the same recoil spring from the factory as the G23s? Or will there be an "02" version for them right off the bat?

All of the current ones are going to an agency. More are being assembled and they are now on the "order" list
I was told by Glock that my local LE shop should have them in stock by the middle of August, I have my name on one, they have a hundred on order.

They look good, I will be sitting on the fence eagerly awaiting range reports. :D
Must have! My Gen2 is getting a bit used and abused.

Good question. I sure they come with the same setup as the G23 just like the 17's did. :D
Me I like finger groves. They do look different though.

I'm guessing that was sarcasm. The one in your image looks great compared to others I've seen.
I'm sure the new ones are both cool and shiney but since the old beat up, excuse me "broken in" one still throws 9mm rounds as good as ever I won't spend the next year being envious over the new one I don't have.
I cannot wait to pick up a Gen4 G19. I like the looks of the new grip texturing.

I have a feeling these will sell like hotcakes...
I've got a lot of guns on my must buy list but as soon as the new G19s are available I'm buying one. Everything else will just have to wait.
Im looking foward to this. Im hoping it is as smooth as the 4th Gen 17s ive shot.. I think ill need 2.....
