Sorry for all of the newbie questions. But I am trying to be informed :D

I plan on reloading .223 using 69GR HPBT bullets. And most of the reloading manuals are suggesting Varget powder. But it seems more likely to find a Dodo bird than this powder. So I was wondering; it seems that Accurate Arms 2520 powder is fairly close in properties. And is much easier to find.

I know I would have to adjust the amount of grains that I would be using in the two powders, but I am wondering how close in performance is it compared to varget. Meaning real world. Is there any difference in accuracy of the round flying down range?

I have used both. Right now I am using 23.5g of AA2520 behind a 75 g Hornaday OTM. I use it in my 20" med contoured barreled CMMG, and am getting right around 1 moa at 200 yds. The actual 5 shot group measured 1.98", I was quite pleased. I like AA2520 because it meters very well out of my powder thrower ( within a .1 g) so I don't have to measure each charge. It also isn't compressed like Varget if that matters to you.

Reloader 15 is worth considering...

Reloader 15 is worth considering...

I'll look into that one.. I didn't see it in the manuals that I was looking at.
