Q about a M5 Rifle RAS

I bought and installed a slightly used M5 Rifle RAS for my m16 clone. The top rail fits nice and tight but the bottom rail wiggles a little near the hand guard cap. Is this normal? It just seems it should lock up a little tighter than this. The rail is pretty beat up but it looks fine structurally. I am just wondering if I am missing something.

Not certain but I've read that a little bit of play on KAC lower rails is normal, that was the case on my carbine lower rail assembly. The upper locks onto the barrel nut, the lower does not, to facilitate an M203 mounting quickly and easily. A bit of strategically placed tin foil apparently does the trick in removing unwanted activity.
