Anybody have to ever use Nikon warranty service?

Just curious if anybody on here has ever had to use Nikon's service department? My Monarch 3.5-10X50 let go over the weekend and I need to send it in to get looked at.

I have used their service department before. No problems to report.

If I remember correctly, turn-around time was about 2 weeks and for my troubles, I received a coupon for 10% off my next Nikon purchase.

I've dealt with them, but for camera's not scopes. Either way, they are local [sort of] in Milvile Long Island. I had to contact them about an SLR for a customer [when I used to sell cameras] and the turnaround was about 8 days. Not sure about any coupons since it was not my camera.

I also deal with them to buy an SLR directly as an employee of one of their resalers. Got my camera in 2 days.

They seem to be on the up and up.

I called their CS and asked for a replacement turret cap (all black) to replace the goofy cap with the gaudy gold buffalo on my African 1-4. They sent it out to me, free of charge, in less than a week
